Barbara Cutter

Barbara Cutter, an American Canoe Association certified Instructor Trainer Educator, has more than 30 years of experience as an educator with a strong foundation in teaching and learning theory.

Barbara – who usually goes by “Barb” — is an expert paddler on rivers and on the sea. She has instructed and guided trips in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, California, Maine, Alaska and Washington. Her international coastal kayaking adventures include Greece, Scotland, Australia and New Zealand.

She maintains ACA Instructor Trainer Certifications in

  • Coastal Kayaking
  • River Kayaking
  • Touring and River Canoeing
  • Stand-up Paddleboarding

Barb is also a long time American Red Cross Instructor Trainer Educator in Water Safety, Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR. She has served on national task groups to review, test and revise American Red Cross lifeguarding and water safety programs.

In addition to managing Cutter Aquatics Barb has taught kayaking for Tarrant County College and is a Master Educator for Leave No Trace national outdoor ethics education programs. Barb is a Master Trainer for Girl Scouts of the USA and volunteers for Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains. She served two terms of service on the ACA National Board of Directors.
