Barbara Cutter is an Instructor Trainer for the ACA in flatwater and river kayaking and canoeing. She is also a USCA certified canoeing instructor and maintains American Red Cross Instructor Trainer Certifications in Water Safety, Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR. She is a member of Texas Canoe Racing Association and competes in marathon kayak and canoe races throughout Texas and Louisiana. In June 2003 she and Chris Gross finished the 262 mile Texas Water Safari. In addition to conducting classes and guiding trips for Cutter Aquatics she teaches kayaking for the Continuing Education Department of Tarrant County College. She is a Master Educator for Leave No Trace national outdoor ethics education programs and enjoys membership in the Texas Outdoor Women's Network. As a volunteer, Ms. Cutter serves Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains, Inc. on board-level governance committees, as a trainer of volunteers and as an instructor of canoeing and kayaking.

Chris Gross, an ACA and American Red Cross Certified Instructor, has been conducting classes with Cutter Aquatics since 2000. She is a member of the Texas Canoe Racing Association, and USCA. She is a Leave No Trace Master Educator and competes in kayak and canoe races in Texas and the southeast.




Rusty Branch, is a second year Cutter Aquatics canoe and kayak instructor. He is certified by the American Canoe Association to teach river kayaking as well as classes on our North Texas lakes. He has enjoyed canoeing and kayaking for nearly 30 years with experience on many lakes and rivers in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. Steve Walls is an expert sea-kayaker bringing open water experience from the Pacific Northwest. Steve became an American Canoe Association certified instructor in 2006. For Cutter Aquatics, Steve teaches many specialty classes like The Kayak Roll and Beyond the Basics. He enjoys kayak fishing on our North Texas lakes and plans frequent trips to the Gulf coast to kayak surf.



Lorraine McPhee knows how to put FUN in the fundamentals. Her passion for learning makes her a creative and effective teacher. You will see her regularly at the Nantahala Outdoor Center and on the Ocoee River improving her own skills. Cutter Aquatics is thrilled that she brings solid white water kayaking basics to our classes. Lorraine is an American Canoe Association certified instructor.
