What to Bring

Swim suit or clothes that can get wet, water shoes or old tennis shoes, hat, sunglasses with a head strap, water to drink, a towel to sit on at the beach or a small folding chair, dry clothes to change into.

How to Get There

Benbrook Lake – From Interstate 20, south of Fort Worth, also called SW Loop 820, Exit on Hwy 377 - Benbrook Blvd - toward Granbury. Drive southwest. Look for signs to the Benbrook Marina. You will turn left on Steven's Drive to enter Dutch Branch Park. Turn left on Lakeview Drive, toward the Marina. Continue past the marina and to the lakeside picinic and parking areas. Look for our kayak trailer.

Brazos River – We meet at Tres Rios Campground on the Brazos River just East of the town of Glen Rose. From I-35 near Cleburne travel West on Hwy 67 to the blinking light at Hwy 141. Turn left at this intersection. There is a large Exxon Station. Then make another left at the large tree in the road. After crossing a small bridge you will see Tres Rios Campground on your right.

Caddo Lake – Travel north of Karnack one mile on State Highway 43 to FM 2198; go east for 1/2 mile to Park Road 2. The park is 15 miles northeast of Marshall.

Fort Worth Nature Center – From Loop I-820 in Fort Worth, exit Hwy 199 (Jacksboro Highway) and go west 4 miles. Exit Confederate Park Rd. Stay on service road. Turn right at the stop sign, which is Buffalo Road. Take the first right turn onto Broadview. This road ends at the lake. Turn right and drive to the end of the road to go to the Greer Island meeting area. Or if your activity is being held at the North Canoe Launch Area turn left where Broadview ends. Drive a short distance and you will see our kayaks/canoes in a lakeshore parking area on your right.

Greek Islands, Poros – Poros Island is located in the Saronic Gulf, 35 nautical miles southwest of Athens, Greece. Our trip fee does not include airfare to Athens, but airport transfers and round trip ferry transportation between the port of Piraeus and Poros Island is included.

Lake Arlington – From East Loop 820 Exit on Rosedale and turn to the east. Proceed to Green Oaks Blvd turn right to head south. Turn right on Arkansas Lane and drive to the parking area at the end of the road. From I-20 south of Arlington take Green Oaks Blvd. north to Arkansas Lane. Turn left on Arkansas Lane and drive west to boat ramp.

Lake Grapevine – Rockledge Park on the north side of the dam. From Northwest Hwy turn north on Fairway Drive, cross the dam, then turn into the park entrance on your left. After entereing the park bear to your right and then turn left immediately after the playground. Meet at the first picnic site near the water. Unless you beat us you should see our kayak trailer.

Lighthouse Trails – To reach the park, travel southeast from Corpus Christi on State Highway 358 to Padre Island; cross the JFK Causeway; continue one mile to traffic light; turn left onto State Highway 361 (used to be Park Road 53), and go 5 miles north to park headquarters for a total distance of about 22 miles.

Mountain Creek – This is a shore based clean-up. We will clean the banks of Mountain Creek. The trash is severe and REALLY needs our help. Meet at the north end of the Mountain Creek Soccer Complex. 3730 South Beltline Road, Grand Prairie. Directions available on the Google Map

New Zealand, South Island – The South Island is the larger of New Zealands two major islands. The west coast where we will travel is known for towering mountains, clear, clean rivers and lakes, temperate coastal forests, accessible glaciers, and wild beaches. Our trip begins in Auckland and includes airfare to Queenstown. We will fly back to Auckland from Nelson.

San Marcos River – From I-35 take exit 205. Go East on HWY-80 (Stay In The Right Hand Lane). One mile past the Blanco River Bridge, turn right onto County Road 101. Immediately make a left onto County Road 102. Go about ½ mile, turn right at the Pecan Park sign.
