Guided Kayak and Canoe Trips

Explore the diverse aquatic environments of Texas. We have inland lakes and grassy marshes. We have wooded streams and deep river gorges.We have a sweeping gulf coast with protected water trails and inviting surf. Our trips will give you a sampling of these rich terrains. For each trip we provide all necessary equipment, expert guides and our signature Silver Platter gourmet meals and snacks. On multi-day trips, we will arrange for your overnight accomodations.

Check our schedule page to see if the tour you like is currently scheduled or contact us to arrange the tour of your choice at your convenience. No previous paddling experience is required for most of our trips. We provide safety instruction and plenty of supervision.

Custom Trip
Varies

We can arrange a custom kayak or canoe trip for you and a group of your closest friends, family or business associates. Arrange a half day, full day or multi-day trip to the Texas lake or river of your choice. We will provide your boats and gear, gourmet meals and expert certified instructors to guide you. Please contact us for destination suggestions. We know lots of beautiful places to paddle. Prices per person vary based on length of trip and destination, but are ALWAYS reasonable.

Guided Day Trip
Half Day

Join us to explore waterways in the Dallas Fort Worth area or just a short drive away. Nearly every month we schedule a trip to a different location. We paddle on lakes and on calm and secenic rivers; at popular destinations and little known waterways. A yummy picnic is always included. Beginning paddlers are welcome, we will accomodate your limited skills. Experience paddlers will be challenged to improve your skills. Most trips can be for canoists and/or kayakers. We provide boats or bring your own. Check our schedule page for dates and upcoming destinations.

Greek Islands Sea Kayaking Adventure
8 days/7 nights

Kayak in the Greek Islands in June 2008. Two trips are scheduled. The Greek Islands are one of the best locations in Europe for sea kayaking. The water is turquoise blue, crystal clear and delightfully warm. Based on the island of Poros our unique and exclusive adventure journey will feature sea kayaking excursions that vary in length and distance. It is for all levels of kayakers. Paddling days will alternate with days of other tours and activities. Bicycling, snorkeling, walking and cultural outings are also included. The trip fee includes accommodations in private apartments, gourmet meals, kayak instruction and equipment and Greek cooking and language lessons. Enjoy group parties and cultural events. New Zealand: Sea Kayaking and South Island Adventures
12 nights + travel

Join a small group of travelers for a two week guided adventure to New Zealand’s South Island. Kayak for three days in Doubtful Sound – some of the world’s most pristine wilderness! Then travel north for winery visits, easy hikes to spectacular views and enjoy a bicycle trip. In Abel Tasman National Park try kayaking in tropical waters. River Clean-up
Varies

Everyone is invited to participate in our environmental serivce projects. They are FREE for all participants. On these one day float trips we pick up trash and other debris endangering the health and beauty of our Texas rivers. You must reserve a place in advance for us to provide you with a boat. We generally use canoes, since these larger boats hold more trash. We will give you some basic instruction if you have not paddled before. Check our Schedule for dates and locations

Big Thicket National Preserve
2 days

Designated as a Globally Important Bird Area these secluded and heavily forested water corridors in the east Texas piney woods will surprise and delight you. We visit the National Park Service headquarters and visitor center for a comprehensive overview of this area of rich biological diversity. We paddle through the Roy E. Larson Sandyland Sanctuary on Village Creek and the pine, cypress and hardwood forests of the Neches and Angelina rivers. You may choose to paddle a kayak or a canoe. Gourmet picnic lunches are served along the river and overnight accommodations are provided at a nearby lodge where we reflect on a day of paddling while enjoying the hot tub and happy hour treats.

Lighthouse Lakes Trail
3 days

Near Aransas National Wildlife Refuge, this waterway winds through one of the most pristine waterways and beautiful tidal flats on the Texas Gulf Coast. Wading Birds and waterfowl abound. Lodging is provided at beautiful condos on Mustang Island. Gourmet meals included and all your paddling gear. Click the trips tab on our menu bar for a trip report and beautiful photos.

Explore Caddo Lake
2 days

Majestic cypress trees stand in the temperate waters of Caddo Lake, Texas’s only natural lake. In cool fall weather the stately trees are draped in silvery Spanish moss and are inhabited by an amazing collection of birds and wildlife. We explore hidden islands and navigate through the lush environment. Early risers are enchanted with a sunrise paddle on the bayou. The distances are easily paddled in a canoe or in a kayak. Gourmet meals, lodge or camp accommodations and boats/equipment are included.

Leave No Trace Wilderness Tours
2 days

Practice the minimum impact camping skills in pristine and undeveloped environments. We will carry all our food, cooking and camping gear in our kayaks or canoes. For a multi-day trip we will enjoy the wilderness while we paddle and leave no trace of our camping. Instruction is provided through a variety of games and activities. These special camping and paddling trips are indicated on our schedule with the letters LNT in the activity column. To become a certified trainer in Leave No Trace Outdoor Ethics sign up for one of our Trainer Courses. You will learn about principals of education and how to deliver experiential activity presentations. You will receive a trainer certificate from the Leave No Trace Center and can present Awareness Workshops to community groups, youth organizations, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts.
